Northbrook Hall in Dhaka (Currently in Bangladesh) - 1904

The view is of Northbrook Hall designed in the so-called Indo-Saracenic style, with Johnson Hall, in a similar style, visible in the background. The buildings may have been attached to Dhaka University at this date, but later Northbrook Hall functioned as the Town Hall.

Chowk or the market place in Dhaka (Currently in Bangladesh) - 1904

This is a view of the Chowk or the market place in Dhaka, looking across the shop roofs. The Chowk Bazaar is at the seething heart of the old city of Dhaka, its narrow, twisted roads are lined with old buildings, the ground floors of which house shops selling a multitude of things. All manner of vehicles, predominantly rickshaws, crowd the streets.
