Trongsa Penlop's (Governor) bodyguard, Governor Sir Ugyen Wangchuk himself standing in the centre, at Tongsa Dzong in Bhutan 1905


Ugyen Wangchuck was the first king of Bhutan (1907 - 1926). For his services in mediating between the British and Tibetans during the Younghusband Expedition to Lhasa, Tibet, he was given knighthood by the British in 1904. Know more about him in Wikipedia
